Take the elitism of Mac owners and combine it with the British.

…or is it, the elitism of the British and combine it…

…whatever.

Actually… I found them as funny as the ads in North America.

And, I have to call you on this: This isn’t Mac Elitism (Or British elitism, for that matter). They’re promoting their own product, so of course they’re going to spin advertisements in their favour. But, they’re also playing on the one thing that hundreds of thousands of Windows users (including myself) have experienced over the years: a whole load of crap.

Most users aren’t interested in computers to the depth that you are. They want to turn it on, and have it work, and have it do what you’d expect it to. Not restart when you install something, not crash randomly, etc, etc.

When I upgraded my OS, I spend a few hours and two full CD’s full of data bakcing up my files, emails, photos, etc. And you know what happened…? Nothing. I have a new OS, and it saved my files, my emails, my photos, my music, everything. I didn’t have to reformat the bloody computer and spend hours reinstalling programs. THAT sold me on the Mac for good. THAT is how a computer SHOULD work.

And that’s who these advertisements are focusing on. I think they’re simple and brilliant. Kinda like the Mac.

Yes, I prefer to do clean installs rather than an upgrade. A full reinstall of XP, Vista, or even the next minor version of OS X is the best choice.

Even if you choose the upgrade path, I have never, never, never, had a failed upgrade from one version of Windows to the next.

Oh, and the offer to the Mac guy that he can have all the PC’s peripherals? Sort of like donating your artwork to a blind man. :)

I know i just emailed it to you, but I guess it’s like this:

I use a Mac for the same reason that you drive an Automatic. :)
