Fox Trot No More

9 01 2007

A lot of comic strips end when the author decides to quit, like Bill Watterson of Calvin & Hobbes, or Charles Schultz. Very rarely does a series end simply ending because they’ve run out of ideas (why are there still new “Cathy“s?).

The latest comic to leave the dailies far too soon is Fox Trot. The author has decided to go into semi-retirement and only do Sunday comics for rest of the comic’s life, running “repeats” during the other six days of the week. I haven’t much introspective to say about this, except that Fox Trot is still one of my top five favourite comic strips.

I suppose you should always leave them wanting more, than keep going after you’ve reached your prime [insert link to any number of pet-named comic strips here].
