The Saga begins, but it never ends
26 04 2005Wow. Holy Shit. A new “Special Special SPECIAL Edition” of Star Wars coming out in 2007.
This time, remastered in 3D.
And two TV shows - one a 3D animated continuation of Clone Wars, and the other a true, live-action show “similar to The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles”. Both take place between Episode III and IV.
Maybe with the tri-special edition, he’ll finally get around to fixing the tie-fighter matte problem in SW:ANH, and the spontaneously appearing tie-fighters in SW: RotJ. These are problems that have been there for almost thirty years… it’s time to fix them.
Considering how much they increased the contrast from the older, laserdisc version to the new, DVD version, by the time we get to another “Special Edition”, we’ll be watching Neon Star Wars.
Me, I still cradle my THX Edition of widescreen VHS’s… that and the ASCII-text version.
