In the news…

23 07 2004

I’m in the process of recoding (and possibly redesigning) the entire web site, so bear with me if there’s some visual screwups…

Elsewhere in the news, when even Ted Turner is saying that Media Conglomerates have gotten too big, then you should believe him!

Somehow I would have felt upset if Catwoman was a good movie. I don’t like Halle Berry, and Michelle Phiffer has a special place in my… er… heart. That outfit worn in the new movie looks unrealistic, exploitive and a total anti-thesis to the strength of “a woman scorned”. Frankly, it’s worse than anything ever created by Roger Corman (and that’s sayin’ something).

Luckily for me, it’s not a good movie. It looks more like a shoe-in for the 2004 Razzie “Winner”. If the Razzies are able to include 2003’s “Gothica” in her performance lineup, Halle is for sure going to bring home the golden raspberry for Worst Actress. Just to remind you, this is the same woman who was awarded an Oscar following Julia Roberts. If it wasn’t for Charlize Theron, I wouldn’t give any credibility to any of the Academy’s post-2000 selections for Best Actress (I’ve no real opinion on 2002’s Nicole Kidman).

At least, if there’s ever a third X-men movie made, we won’t have to deal with her “Storm”.
