After nearly a full month of nothing on TV, 24 finally returned on Tuesday night. To mark the occasion, Paul and I went out to Ajax to watch it with John. Looks like it’s getting pretty nasty, and not one but TWO characters died - not counting the other guy in the car… he had fewer than three lines. The Rule is that they have to have at least three lines before they can be counted as “The Death of the episode”. Still, it looks like the last few episodes of the season are going to be pretty sweet.
I said this a few months ago, so it’s not really a spoiler. But I’m pretty confident that Michelle is going to die. The guy who played Tony likely signed a two-year contract after the success of the first season, and they established early on in this season that Tony has a job offer elsewhere. After this season, audiences are quite familiar with his character. However, if he asks for too much while renegotiating his contract, then the producers can just close the book on his character and start with someone new for “Day 4″. Messed up, and I actually want to get into that industry despite that BS!!!
We also cracked open John’s “Scene It!” game. Given how much John and I know about movies, Paul held his own quite well. I’m very proud of my Padewan. However, there were far too many times when I could identify the movie, but NOT the name. Probably has to do with left-brain / right-brain stuff. Since I’m the only one of my friends it seems isn’t taking a psych course, I can’t tell you any more than that.
Last night, Simone, the One Who’s Name Must Not Be Written and I went to Aurora to some Battle of the Bands thingy where Little Sunday was performing. Pretty good, but not a whole lot to tell about it. Well, I don’t even know why I’m writing about it.
Finally, today is April 1st. That means fake news in The Star talking about slowing down joggers so the squirrels can mate; cool, fake products on ThinkGeek; and StarWars.com releasing the name of Episode III: The Creeping Fear… at least, I HOPE that’s a joke… After all, Lucas is the same guy who thought Attack of the Clones was a good title.
And what April Fools Day would be complete without playing a prank on your loved ones. This year, I sent out the following email to several people, including my family members:
I just got the phone call this morning in response to a job posting I saw on Monster.ca last week.
LucasFilm / Industrial Light & Magic is opening a DVD production branch and will be located in downtown Toronto (probably a Hollywood North thing). The first phone call was just a short, informal, get-to-know-you, but they’re asking me to come in for an interview. They saw one of the demo DVDs I produced, and they want to interview me for a job. They’ve got the contract to bring all of 20th Century Fox’s library to DVD!!!
This is sweet! Wish me luck!

So far, I’ve tricked six people, and received two death threats.
Ain’t I a stinker?
