Oh, big eff’ing surprise. The Neo-Communism Now Magazine dumps on Mel Gibson’s movie, trying to find ‘hidden meaning’ and finding none.

These are the same people who critisized Mission: Impossible for being ‘too deep’

Well, I’ve already got a few gifts! Simone dropped by and gave me a gift card for Canadian Tire (so I can buy 600 feet of yellow Attention tape) and the Hulk and T3 DVDs. Sweet. Unfortunately, I really want to watch the Hulk, but i probably won’t have time until Sunday. Both movies come as 2-disc Special Editions. Everyone always feels so ripped off now when there’s no fancy special features on even budget-priced DVDs. But, as John says, “when am I ever going to watch these again?”.

I’m starting to pick up more about producing DVDs. My un-formulated plan right now is to put together something from RegNSara’s wedding, then sell my services on a freelance basis to wedding videographers through the Summer. Wouldn’t that be an excellent source of income?!?

The biggest challenge is that I haven’t taken on a self-teaching process this big (nor important) for some time… probably since I taught myself ActionScripting in Flash 4 (where I figured out how to program array variables in a programming language that can’t do arrays… *geek* *geek* *geek*). I’m a little out of practise, but I think I make up for it in enthusiasm… and pushed by a weak bank account.

If anyone wants to buy me a registered copy of Adobe’s Digital Video Collection, I’ll produce TWO free DVDs for you… as it works out, that’s pretty cost effective for you! Or you could give it to me for my birthday…

….which is today! Yay! (Did I mention that already?)

Well, no surprise here: Walkerton families are still wading through paperwork for compensation. This is a really sad article… it even tells about a widower who died shortly after his wife became a victim to the Harris Government’s ignorance.

While I feel sorrow for many of the individuals, I can’t really feel bad for the community. In the last provincial election, Walkerton’s riding was one of the few that voted Tory, and inside Walkerton, half of the polling stations reported more votes for the Eves government than the other parties. Tough luck, no inherent sympathy from me when I hear someone is from Walkerton.

And speaking of dumb people, I’ve been seeing more and more Hummers in parking lots. This is not an environmentally friendly car to go pick up the groceries with!

I’ve had to switch to whole milk just to keep up all the phlem I need for hocking loogies on these wastes of space.

I think I’m going to make up some stickers - “I’m killing your children”

It’s special to share time on your birthday with those you care about.

In a completely different way, it’s special to get Birthday wishes from people you’re not expecting it from!

Wow. At the Screen Actors Guild awards, it was shown that the Best Actor Oscar is not as much of a clincher as some might think. Up to now, it looked like Sean Penn was the certain winner, with Bill Murray getting the unawarded ‘Honorable Mention’. After Johnny Depp took home SAG’s award for Best Actor in Pirates of the Caribbean, it looks like there’s a three-way run for the prize… between Spicolli, Spackler and The Tough Kid from Nightmare on Elm Street.

Following the Super Bowl’s halftime show, all award shows this year are putting everything on a delay. Although a five minute delay on the Grammy’s didn’t help much when all the technical errors took the show down to the level of a grade 6 rehersal. I agree with a delay on the Oscars.

I don’t need to see Diane Keaton try to revitalize her career in the same way Janet Jackson did!
