Wow… nearly one month since the last entry, and over a month since I actually wrote anything significant (even if it was only another slam about the Downfall of Society via Reality TV shows).
The exhausting part of the last month was the excessive overtime I put in for one project at work… that can be my excuse for not updating my blog! I’ve got five days worth of hours coming to me in lieu-time, so I’ll be taking it near the end of Simone’s Reading week up to and including my birthday.
As for the Blogging, I can’t promise this is the re-start of my journal writing. The site will be going through the third full overhaul. I’ll keep the Japanese journal, since 90% of the Google searches that bring people to my web site are for phrases found in those pages…
…I’m still number one on Google for the search term “Simpsons fugu” as well as two new search terms - “definition of gomennasai” and “Japanese keyboard vaio caps lock”. I don’t know what that means, but I think it’s cool.
The site will be way simpler. I’m going for white space in the next design, and there’s going to be user-levels on my journal entries. That way I’ll be able to talk a little more openly about work, companies that I hate (#%$& you, Telus), and general dissention in the ranks. The idea was inspired by Growl’s password protected journal.
Like cc.com, each user won’t have to register, and cookies so it doesn’t have to be done every time the user visits the site. There will, however, be a hierarchal degree of passwords given to friends, family, and general users. I’ll probably make it easy to guess with an appropriate hint, like “What emotion is Sara’s middle name” for people from K-W… something simple, but something that my co-workers would not know…
Oh, and after many requests, I’ll introduce a comments field.
This will be a process over the next month or so… as part of a “different” project that I can’t talk about here…
…hence why I need password protection.
