Sometimes the dog really DOES eat your homework.
Sometimes the wolf really IS attacking the sheep.
Sometimes you’re late for work because the power really DID go out and disable your alarm clock…
…luckily for me I have very noisy kids in the house upstairs.
This morning I woke up to a black apartment, save for the light coming in through the blinds. The fridge was off, the computers were off, and my alarm clock was off. I showered in near-darkness, and for some reason couldn’t stop thinking about all the stupid people I have to deal with in my life (will someone please remind me to enter a comment in this journal about last week’s firings at Livewire?). All in all, a difficult morning to start with.
However, when I got outside, there was the first snow of the year on the car. Not much more than a dusting, and there was nothing South of Hwy. 7, but it was enough to remind me that my favourite season is about to start. Barrie’s supposed to get a few inches of snow over the next 24 hours, and Richmond Hill will probably get at least another dusting.
I like Winter. Partly because few others do. Screw them. I’m going skiing.
